Oral Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation dentistry is a medical procedure involving the administration of oral sedative drugs and the use of Nitrous oxide and oxygen, generally to facilitate a dental procedure and reduce patients fear and anxiety related to the experience.

The process allows even the patients with a dental phobia to have a calm and relaxed dental experience.
Some people become groggy enough from moderate oral sedation to actually fall asleep during the procedure. They can usually be awakened with a gentle shake.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous is safe for children as well as adults to use.
Nitrous oxide also knows as laughing gas, is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax and reduce any anxiety that a patient may have.

The effects of nitrous oxide will wear off as soon as the nitrous is shut off. You are then just breathing oxygen and the mask is removed.

This is one option offered by the dentist to reduce your anxiety and make you feel comfortable during the dental treatment.
