First Visit

Thanks for choosing Grandview Dental Clinic. We would like your appointment to be as comfortable as possible. If you are a new patient:

• Call (905) 240-7744 (Oshawa Office) or (647) 748-6200 (Scarborough Office) to book an appointment.
• Please come ten minutes early before your appointment.
• If you had x-rays taken recently by your dentist, you can either fill a patient information release form and request for them to be sent to us or bring them with you directly.

Your initial exam may last one hour. This would involve getting acquainted with you and a review of your medical and dental concerns and goals and desires for dental treatment. We would generally take x-rays (digital) and do a complete exam of your jaws, mouth, oral cancer screening and record the condition of your teeth. An optimal treatment plan may be presented to you on the same or subsequent visit, after a discussion of various options available and their pros and cons. The final decision will be based on your concurrence. In most instances, an oral hygiene visit may be scheduled with your exam where your teeth would be cleaned and you would be given oral hygiene instructions. An evaluation of your gums may also be done.
